We all have times when life deals us a bunch of blows all at once. It has happened to me a ton this year and this week is no exception. Right now I am in the middle of launching two new services, strategizing a third launch, planning my photo booth expo pre-day in for Las Vegas, and making sure all else is running. Toward the tail end of last week, my 2 year-old son Logan was discovered to have brought home head lice from somewhere. (If you are familiar, this necessitates massive clean-up and laundering pretty much everything in our house.) That made me stay at home for two days last week as he could not attend daycare.
Now this week, the night before last our 8 month old son, Mason, got a fever and vomited in the middle of the night. (oh the joys of parenthood). My wife stayed home from work yesterday to care for him. Now my wife is having symptoms of illness and is down so I am at home with both of them today.
Why do I share all this? A couple reasons. First, an apology. I didn’t send my daily email yesterday. I know, I know many of you didn’t even notice. The bottom line is that we have to be consistent in our actions no matter what in order to continue to move forward and my business is no exception. We all have things we are dealing with. We have to “just keep swimming” in order to reach our goals. We have to put everything aside we can, stay focused, keep our eyes forward and step. We have to do it consistently. I often tell my sales staff that when you have momentum, do everything you can to keep it going. Make hay when the sun is shining.
So to you I say “just keep swimming” today and every day. I will do the same and we will talk more tomorrow.
